Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

When you sign up for Perch, we collect:

  • Account information: your name and email address
  • Search criteria: rent range, bedroom/bathroom preferences, neighborhoods, move-in dates, and must-have amenities you specify
  • Payment information: processed and stored entirely by Stripe. We never store your credit card number. We only receive a customer ID and subscription status from Stripe.
  • Usage data: which digests were delivered, basic interaction data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Deliver your daily apartment digest email
  • Process your subscription payment via Stripe
  • Send transactional emails (welcome, payment receipts, cancellation confirmations)
  • Track which listings you've already been shown so we don't repeat them
  • Improve the Service

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Email and CAN-SPAM Compliance

All emails we send are transactional (account-related) or service emails (your daily digest) that you have explicitly opted into by subscribing. We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act. Every email includes a clear way to unsubscribe or cancel. To stop receiving emails, cancel your subscription at perchnyc.app/manage. We will honor opt-out requests promptly.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only with:

  • Stripe — to process your subscription payment
  • Supabase — our database provider, where your account and criteria are stored
  • Resend — our email delivery provider

All third-party providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as you have an active or recently cancelled subscription. If you request account deletion, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records). To request deletion, email hello@perchnyc.app.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. Your account data is stored in a secured database with access controls. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never stored on our servers. However, no system is perfectly secure; use the Service at your own risk.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@perchnyc.app. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
